RIDE DIFFICULTY: INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED
OHV Size Limitation: 50"
Approximate Mileage: TBA

Staging Area: Leaves from base
Day Available: Wednesday
Departure: 7:30 am

This ride will start at Millsite State Park. The ride goes along the base of South Horn Mountain, for about 5 miles, to the Rock Canyon trail head.  This 50" trail is rated intermediate to advanced. When reaching the top, we'll head east to the TV towers and there you'll be able to view Emery County and the San Rafael Swell from the top of Horn Mountain.  After taking a break, we'll continue to the north, go around the Cap and to the Lords Trail. We then go down the Lords Trail to the Black Dragon Trail and back to Millsite State Park. Be sure to bring drinks, a jacket, face covering for the dust and a camera, so you can show your friends and family! There are a couple of old coal mines along the trail, local cowboys and sheep herders still use the trail today to move their herds to summer grazing. Hikers and people who like to explore also use the area. The earliest information about Rock Canyon comes from Jedediah Smith, back in 1826.  Back in the day, mountain men, local Indians, Cowboys, Sheep Herders and Settlers from the Sanpete and Sevier counties used this trail. (The infamous, modern day mountain man Troy James Knapp used this trail to move between the counties).

Group 1: Top of the Arch – Geological Ride
This ride requires you to trailer your ATV 12 miles from Castle Valley Ranch to Interstate 70 where the ride begins ( all asphalt). From there we will ride to the top of the Hondo Arch, which you can see at a short distance away. Scenery is fantastic at this point! We will then ride through Cedar Mountain where the Dikes, or Fishers, begin to appear and are unusual, rare, and neat to look at. Down we go into Carlyle Wash where you will see many Geological changes in formations, minerals, and color. On to the Mussentuchit Sand Dune. Yes! The formations keep changing and we are getting close to the end. This ride is 62 miles and is easy riding, all size machines can go.

From there you will drop down into Eagle Canyon and go out the South Fork of Eagle Canyon (passing old mining communities) into Reds Canyon to the Muddy River and the Hondo Arch. We will then go to Mackey Flat were we should surely see Wild Horses! Then, up Rods Valley to Swaseys Cabin then back to Eagle Canyon down the North Fork.  This 55 mile ride is a fairly technical trail in spots so be prepared. This ride is open to all size machines.

    IMPORTANT - LIABILITY WAIVER AGREEMENT
    Limitation of Liability Agreement
Arapeen ATV Jamboree and Emery County Recreation District have tried to take every possible precaution to assist you in having a safe and enjoyable adventure while you are here. Because of the nature of this particular sport, it must be understood by every participant that there are inherent dangers in riding ATV's. The Jamboree, Emery County, its coordinators, sponsors, and supporters and public land management agencies cannot be held responsible or liable for any accidents or mishaps, or personal or property damage which occurs during Jamboree events. By registering for the Jamboree, each rider takes upon himself personal responsibility for his/her own safety and well being, and that of others in his/her care.

Riders are required to stay with their groups and follow designated guides. This will help provide for the safety and comfort of all riders. Guides will assist the group in determining and maintaining a safe and comfortable speed and will determine the routes to be followed. We must emphasize that the Arapeen ATV Trail, the Great Western Trail, and the San Rafael Swell Trails are not intended for speed. They are intended for a more leisurely pace which lends itself to the nature of the trails and the mountainous, often rough terrain. Good judgment and responsible riding on the part of every rider must be exercised at all times on the trail. Each rider will be responsible for compliance with the conditions set forth herein, and for the condition and operation of his or her own ATV and related equipment, and of his or her own safety and personal protective gear and that of those in their charge. Utah State ATV laws indicate where trails are located on public lands, and have been properly designated as open to ATV use, those involved in land management, and organized, permitted uses on those trails bear no responsibility or liability for accidents which may happen due to trail use or participation in events involving those trails. Again, we emphasize personal responsibility for safety and well being on the trail. Jamboree personnel have attempted to assign a rating to each event, in order to help riders determine which events will be within the scope of their experience and ability, and to avoid those that may be beyond their abilities. These ratings are not according to any established system, but have been based only on the experience and personal knowledge of the guides. A variety of rides have been selected in an effort to provide events suitable to the abilities and wants of every rider. If riders have any questions or concerns about the difficulty of any event, they should ask the guides or other Jamboree personnel prior to joining with the group. Riders are encouraged to pick the Jamboree rides and events which suit their individual experience and riding abilities.

By clicking "Yes" below, you understand and agree to the terms listed in this liability waiver for yourself and any additional participants you are registering for.   You take full responsibility for yourself, and those you are registering for, as set forth in this waiver.
